Laser Digitizing
A Hymarc Hyscan 45C laser digitizer is used to obtain non-contact point cloud data from larger parts. The digitizer control computer is synchronized with the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) scales, and transmits approximately 2000 XYZ point values per second, via ethernet, to a Windows NT Workstation GUI computer. The Hymarc XhyscanNT and SDRC Imageware software packages are used for visualization and conversion to Computer Aided Design (CAD) B-spline and NURBS surfaces.
